The Anoka-Hennepin School District Special Education Advisory Council (SEAC) will host a parent resource event featuring guest speakers from the school district to inform families about resources available at schools in the district.

It can be challenging for parents to communicate with children about things that happen in our world that may prompt questions and/or concerns. As a parent/guardian, there are a variety of things you can do to recognize fears and concerns while helping children feel safe.

The Anoka-Hennepin School District is hosting an in-person hiring event for operational and student support positions on Wednesday, Feb. 11, from 3-5 p.m. at the Educational Service Center located at 2727 N Ferry St. in Anoka. Enter through Door 7.

Due to extreme cold weather conditions, all Anoka-Hennepin schools will be closed Friday, Jan. 23, 2026.

The Anoka-Hennepin School District negotiators and Anoka-Hennepin Education leaders reached a tentative agreement for an updated contract with Anoka-Hennepin Education Minnesota (AHEM) for the 2025-26 and 2026-27 school years during a mediation session today. 

Over winter break, the Anoka-Hennepin Schools negotiation team met with Anoka Hennepin Education Minnesota (AHEM) twice - on Dec. 30 and again on Jan. 2 - in an effort to continue to find a solution for an updated agreement that both values the impact of teachers and recognizes the tight budget parameters that are a reality in our school district.  

The process to determine an updated working agreement for Anoka-Hennepin Education Minnesota (AHEM) will continue in mediation following a four-hour negotiation session held today at the Educational Services Center in Anoka. The school district provided a proposal for the AHEM negotiators to consider and discussion will continue at the next scheduled mediation session set for Friday, Jan. 2.  

Anoka-Hennepin Education Minnesota (AHEM), the union representing the district's teachers, delivered an official notice of intent to strike to the school district on December 22. The district has outlined answers to frequently asked questions (FAQs), what happens next, and what happens in the event of a work stoppage.

Anoka-Hennepin will host the K-12 Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) Fair as an opportunity for students at all grade levels to present findings on research projects and experimentation they’ve completed to the general public in the areas of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).
